Quick Update...

Here's just a quick update before bed. The new walls are up and the bay window is framed in. We're praying for dry weather tomorrow, but it's not looking good! Thursday through Saturday looks okay though, so hopefully we'll have a roof by the end of the weekend. The new bedroom is taking shape, and is going to be a very nice size. Overall things are going well. It's crazy to see it all coming together!
Before...

After!

This picture doesn't really show how big the room is, but you can see where the old wall stops, anyway.

So here's the completed shower. This is main bath outside of the bedrooms.
In case you don't remember from previous posts, this is what the shower started out as.
Time for bed, hopefully I'll get pictures of a roof posted this weekend!

Let the mess begin...

Well we started our major remodel project on monday. We're adding on to the front of the house on the second level which will add to the master bedroom/bathroom. Unfortunately things are progressing slowly due to the weather, but I guess that's what we get for starting a project in October! The new floor is already built, and we should have the new walls and trusses up by Tuesday as long as the weather cooperates a little.

While the pros are busy with that project, Katie and I have been busy trying to get the hall bathroom finished up. We have finished grouting and are now waiting for that to cure before we seal it up and call it done! Of course then we still have to finish part of a wall and find a vanity, and replace the window...but we're getting closer :). We have moved out of the master bedroom and into one of the guest bedrooms. It's a tight squeeze for now, but it will make our new bedroom seem that much bigger. We have been helping out with the bedroom addition a little bit too, I suppose. I ripped out the ceiling sheetrock in the garage, and the other day Katie and I ripped out some sheetrock in the bedroom. We had fun with it, it's not every day you can kick in your wall!

The first morning of construction
Day 1 results. The roof is gone, you're looking at plywood they put over the new floor for weather protection, which we definately needed the last two days.
Who need's a hammer??
This is where our job ends, and the pros job begins
I got the tub surround grouted while Katie grouted the floor...almost done!

Slowly but surely we're making progress. We're learning a lot along the way and are having a lot of fun with everything, which is good since it takes up almost all of our time outside of work! We've been good so far about taking progress pictures as we go so check back for more updates!
